Small dainty fingers would always curl around the doorknob to your office, bringing a tingling of geniuine joy inside of you. You could count the days that it'd been since anyone had been willing to have a legitimate conversation with you - much less, befriend you.

The gleeful redhead would always brighten up every corner of your dreadful office, where it left you secluded from the world in piles of work. You looked forward to the random visits, where she'd come and greet you. The click of your door signaled that she was coming, and you fought back a smile.

She didn't ask to come in this time. That was progress, wasn't it? Maybe she really did consider you a friend, after all.

"(Name)!" The random spurs of delight twisted inside your stomach. Petra's voice was not exactly "soothing", no, it was a sweetness that dripped like honey. Sugary, something you could practically eat up. You looked up from your paperwork, the smile you fought hard against surfacing anyways.

"Good evening." You greet, your smile growing smaller as she sat down. In her hands, there was a teacup with a saucer underneath it. It was nothing fancy, after all, the Survey Corps couldn't afford fancy pleasures.

The teacup was a simple plain pearl color, but it was what was inside that grasped your attention. A brownish liquid with steam puffing out, and a scent of tea hitting your nostrils. Petra sat down in front of your desk, eagerly awaiting for you to say take a sip.

Petra was well known for her tea. Even Corporal Levi himself admitted that it was good, and would get angry at anyone else's tea. You had it a few times at breakfast, but she never took the time to personally deliver it to you. You were grateful for this.

Your fingers curl around the handle, and twirl around. A small clattering noise hit your ears as you rose the teacup from the small saucer. Soon enough, it was near your lips, the warm cup's steaming never ceasing.

Petra leaned forward just a tad. She wished to get a good look at your facial expression when you try it. The hot liquid slid down your throat as you parted your lips, the taste splashing against your tastebuds. Your face melts into an expression of serenity, your eyelids drooping just a bit. The taste wasn't too strong, yet it was present all the same. You could put your finger on the ingredients exactly, but they blended together excellently.

"This was really good, as expected from you Petra." You compliment, causing her amber hues to light up. For a moment, a small nervous chortle left her peach tinted lips, and she leaned back into the chair.

"Aw, I'm glad that it is. I tried something different today instead of playing it safe." Petra explains a bit. You felt almost bemused by how she seemed so cautious around you. She almost seemed to be treading carefully, but it was most likely your own fault for being so isolated. But, she risked something today, and you felt grateful for that. The small things in life are the most enjoyable.

"You didn't answer my question, though," You cross your arms over your chest, "so, what's the secret? What'd you put in it?" Petra's expression was a bit alarmed, but it quickly dissipated into a slightly sassier stance. She leaned forward, and placed a hand on her hip, and a finger over her mouth.

"You see, I can't tell you that one. It's my own little secret." Petra says as you take yet another sip. You don't speak a word, you just calmly place down the teacup.

"Ah, that's a shame. But what about if I want to make myself tea while you're busy?" You hope that you sound somewhat persuading. It was a geniuine reason, but you weren't sure if it'd be enough to convince Petra to spill the secret to you. You felt so caught up with actually casually to someone, no business - just about some silly tea. But, regardless, it felt nice. And much more natural than you would think talking with a friend would be.

"Just make the tea regardless of the flavor! I'm sure whatever you put effort into, it'll turn out wonderful." Petra encourages, a sweet smile adorning her face. You were a bit thrown off by her random positive outburst, but you couldn't help but smile in return. A small yawn takes place of Petra's smile. You tilt your head with a frown. 'She better be getting enough rest.' Before you could inquire about that, Petra spoke.

"There's a lot of training going on tomorrow, I think I should get some rest." Petra says with a small satisfied sigh, before getting up and walking towards the door. The bright cheeriness almost seemed to fade away with every step she took. You take another sip of the tea as she gets closer to the door. She looks over her shoulder, before waving.

"I might just tell you the secret if you keep bugging me about it! Keep that in mind." Petra told you with a wink, quickly exiting before you could comment. She seemed to like cutting you off. You look down towards towards the rustic colored liquid, your lips quirking up.

'I guess that gives me an excuse to keep talking to her then.'
PETRA IS THE PRINCESS. I was going to make this angst, but there needs to be some Petra fluff for us all.

This is a gift to :iconcaptain-fan: because Petra is her wife. I'm sorry this is kinda sucky though ahh. But seriously, Petra is a beautiful angel. Go Petra.

In other news, I'm starting to write the plot outline for the Levi x Reader Astronaut!AU, and I am gonna try my best to get it done by Friday. I hope you all love some Petra goodness, and I tried my best to make it gender neutral. It's more of a really good friendship, but meh, see it as you want to.
